This roleplay is based off of the custom I run when I get time, also known as Resurgence. If you have seen the doc or even roleplayed in Resurgence, you probably have a good idea as to what the plot itself pertains to. If not, I will explain. Please note that the story will have differences compared to the Showdown custom.

Plot & Story of the 5CAPC:
The creation of the 5CAPC was not planned, nor was it even meant to happen, but after the disastrous result of the 1982 Offensive there were only four survibors of the first wave of attackers who stayed in active duty. These survivors were Master Gunnery Sergeant Edward Alverara, Master Sergeant Timothy Braddox, Lance Corporal Matthew Ray Vaughn and Private First Class Henry King. (Private First Class Norman Haveene was the fifth survivor, but he resigned a day after the offensive). The four were brought together to form an elite group which became coded as the 5CAPC. The usage of 5CAPC was to at first confuse enemies due to its name being very different from any other company, unit, or division. Alverara was given command of the company, leading it to a successful run from late 1982 until he was killed in action in 1984, pulling off a groundbreaking average 34 missions a month during that time. After the death of Alverara, control of the 5C was given to Master Sergeant Timothy Braddox, though his takeover of the 5C was controversial due to many people pointing out that then Staff Sergeant Matthew Ray Vaughn had a far better active duty record than his higher ranked counterpart. Due to a drop in war activities and loss of a successful leader, the 5C entered a rut of little action for years, only pulling off on average 4 missions a month. During this time, the 5C experienced their first major violation of wartime practice. In 1989, highly esteemed Staff Sergeant Matthew Ray Vaughn was put on trial for ignoring orders and burning down a museum containing items of massive historical value. It was during this trial that the 5C gained mainstream notability, and earned heavy public support upon Vaughn's statement. "You were trying to save history, I was trying to save lives." Though Vaughn was acquitted of any actual punishment, the court stated that the 5C was in need of more authorative leadership and put the group under the command of First Lieutenant Christine Aktor, who had done missions with the 5C in the past. Over the next few years, the 5C took on a more media friendly role, with then Lance Corporal Henry King becoming a very popular role model for children due to his motivated and friendly attitude. However, in 1996 during an interview about the 1982 Offensive and what effect it had on him, Timothy Braddox shot himself on a live local station. The situation quickly went national and the 5C was removed from the public eye and put back onto missions, with Gunnery Sergeant Matthew Ray Vaughn taking Braddox's spot as secondary commander under Aktor. Needing more soldiers to fill out the ranks of the 5C, Aktor made various recruitment attempts, including former college football star turned Army mechanic Leonard Hawkins III and little known Private Zeke Azako upon many others. In 1997, tragedy struck the 5C once more when Vaughn was captured in an ambush, leading most potential recruits to abandon the idea of joining the 5C except for the two listed, who joined immediately after hearing the news. During Vaughn's absence, the 5C began doing about 13 missions a month, though most were low risk missions due to fear of another member being captured. The capture of Vaughn ignited public support for the 5C once more and a push for efforts to rescure him, though most efforts were major failures. In early 1999, there were conflicting reports of Vaughn either escaping captivity or being executed. Only a week after reports were released, another report came out that Vaughn had attacked 1Lt. Christine Aktor and had to be restrained before taken to a medical facility. This report was taken down almost immediately, nothing else was said about Vaughn's return until 3 months later, when it was reported that Vaughn had escaped the POW camp and will retake his spot in the 5C after being promoted to Master Sergeant. Though over the next couple years, reports were released involving interviews with soldiers that stated after Vaughn's return, "Aktor was obviously scared of him." and, "She basically gave him full control over the 5C." In 2002, Vaughn recruited Private First Class Juddias Rodriguez, and the 5C returned to averaging 34 missions a month. Though in 2004 Juddias Rodriguez was killed in action, presumably by Abel Sinjay. After Judd's death, the average mission count dropped to about 15. In 2006, the 5C ran into yet another scandal, spotlighting on the abusive treatment of POW Cain Sinjay at the hands of Gunnery Sergeant Henry King and Staff Sergeant Zeke Azako. For the first time since they were introduced to media, public opinion turned against the 5C, as they began being depicted as more of a savage mercenary group than an actual military unit. King and Azako were both acquitted due to there being no proof. Public support further diminished when it was revealed that Matthew Ray Vaughn used his background pull to not only save Henry and Zeke, but also get his son, Adrian, acquitted of the 2004 murder of Linda Sinjay, who was the wife of high valued target Rajeem Sinjay. In 2008, the 5C attempted to capture Rajeem, though Rajeem was tipped off before the capture (supposedly by Christine Aktor herself) and the mission became one of the most horrendous failures in 5C history. After the mission, Gunnery Sergeant Henry King and Lance Corporal Leonard Hawkins III were honorably discharged due to their inability to continue serving. While First Lieutenant Christine Aktor and Staff Sergeant Zeke Azako resigned just one week later. Master Sergeant Matthew Ray Vaughn was the only member of the 5C to remain in the military, not resigning until 2010, just one day after Rajeem live streamed the illegal execution of Vaughn's son Adrian to the base in which Vaughn worked in.in 2011, after an investigation revealed that most of the group partook in many illegal activities, Henry King's honorable discharge was revoked, later that year, Zeke Azako died of a disease believed to be related to a gas that was released during the failure of 08. Leonard Hawkins III also died of the disease, though in 2013, while Henry King and Christine Aktor disappeared from public eye. A rising threat from many enemies caused an emergency call to bring back the 5C with Matthew Ray Vaughn appointed as leader, though unlike before, the recruits will not be chosen by him. So whether you were put in this group or volunteered for it, it is up to you to retain and rebuild the roller coaster legacy of the 5C.

Rules/Mechanics:

1. Follow all Pokemon Showdown Rules
2. No Godmodding
3. Don't be an ass, your character can be an ass but not you
4. Fill out all parts of the form that don't state they are optional
5. Don't try to invade the whole rp with your lone plot. You can have small plots and such yes, but don't force them to encompass the roleplay.
6. This is mainly a pokemon rp, but you can be other species's within reason.

As you may already know (considering you have done the custom, if not don't worry I'm gonna explain it anyways.) The battle mechanics will be much more different than on Showdown. The actions will be based off of actual logic instead of rolls and chance, meaning that your chances of actually hitting the target are based off of how well you strategize and execute your attack on the target.

Members of the 5C:

Master Sergeant Matthew Ray Vaughn (Arcanine): Master Sergeant Vaughn takes the role of a supervisory official, who, due to the poor shape he is in, is restricted from active combat unless the extreme need for his assistance arises.

"Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to one of the most prestigious fighting forces of modern history. As you may know, the 5CAPC has upheld a high standard of mission success, and we want it to return to those days. That is why we are rebuilding it under the supervision of its most successful leader in Mr. Vaughn! The training and the missions will be difficult, but as long as you preserve you will make it through! Good luck! - Major General Johnathan Pechio
