Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer - RP edition

Post by Former Hope on Fri Nov 28, 2014 8:31 pm

Look here for any simple questions or answers you may have about the room, policies or roleplays.

Questions about promotions, demotions, and staff decisions such as mutes, bans, and no-tolerance/permaban additions are not accepted and will be deleted.

Please make sure to check out the Roleplaying Room's website before you ask a question, as it might be answered there!

I guess I'll be the first to ask a question...

So of course, controversial material is banned. Aside from MLP (stated in the Roleplaying Forum), what other items should generally be avoided? There may or may not be a concrete list, though I simply want to make sure that I don't accidentally break a rule.

Also, the link to the RP Room's Website is broken.

As you know, we allow things from other fandoms on the forums, but yes, controversial topics are banned. Obviously, inappropriate things are too. Roleplays that involve immature or distasteful content such as twerking or pure gore are not allowed either. We're a lot more lenient on the types of RPs, though, so just use common sense and you should be fine. Smile

If you use a mega that changes type, the Pokemon's typing must match its ORIGINAL form. For example, you cannot use Mega Altaria on a Fairy mono, but you can use Mega Gyarados on a Flying team.

My MM doc is literally a google doc with the word "Participants" and I just fill it in as I go. So...

If you're trying to make a rules/how to play doc, I recommend making an introduction, a rules section, a 'how to play', a role section, and a general tips section.

going off of Blue's statement: MM hosts need to submit an idea which will be put on the host poll. Either you can make a simple MM doc with "Participants" on it, or you can make a doc specifically for the type of MM you want.
For example, you have several MM ideas, which all have different themes and stuff. You can make a completely separate doc for each idea, with the summary of the idea, and even the rules if they're different from a generic MM. Like me: I'm planning on making two new MMs, on called "Ouija Board Madness!" and "MM- Eeveelution special." both of these ideas are MM, but have rule changes in them (they're not huge changes) but I'd make a doc for them separately. If you don't like teh idea of different ideas on different docs, then you can simply stick it all under one file with a separate page for each one. Or you can just go with the simple page with Participants written on it XD

Generally, your role is dictated by the type of RP it is. For instance, Freeroam allows Trainers, Pokemon, and Gijinka, while Conquest only allows humans and Murder Mystery is supposed to only allow Pokemon. But if you're asking how to change your name, you input /nick -new name- into the chatbox on PS.

Fixed, next time make it easier on yourself and just use 'insert a link'.
