Conquest, a guideline/helping thread for those who need it.

Post by Shan Elarial on Mon Dec 01, 2014 7:17 pm

Firstly, the best way to assure victory is to have alliances, (or, be unbeatable). It is always nice to know that someone else has your back, unless they betray you...Secondly, if your trying to conquestt all the kingdoms, it's best to assert your dominance by conquesting something other than your weaknesses. (As, that shows your incapable of fighting a fair fight.) third, try to get some Knights. You may think your tough and all, but there is always someone tougher. (Rspically your weaknesses). These are just a few things I do to help me survive conquest. (Though I usually die somehow.) feel free to post CQ teams that others might use, or some other things that could help folks.

Knights need to be trusted friends; Couping is a thing for the more mainstream types.

A Feat is conquering your weakness,
Your Resistance is easy.

Indeed. Conquering your weakness requires great skill. (Or lots of hax). And, knights should be friends, or people you know that are trustworthy. Otherwise, you could be in for a coup.

Coups are harder to see than someone attacking you. Either use friends as knights,
Or use Pokémon to counter your own type.
Some types who are netural to their own type are dangerous with a coup

Can I suggest a good way to absolutely destroy in conquest?
Sure Katee, you're a cool kid.
My Advice:
Needed Type: Fire
Needed Alliance: None 8D
Needed Knights: Two decent knights are nice, but not needed.
What do I do then?: For starters, have a GOOD fire team. It doesn't have to be Tour good, just good enough to win you battles against neutral types. I then suggest heading over to ice/grass and talking to them. Challenge them to a conquest, and win because ADVANTAGE. BUT, instead of taking their kingdom offer it back to them, but in return they must protect you and all kingdoms they conquer go to you! (Do this for BOTH Grass and Ice.) Grass takes down the weakness to Water, Ground, and Rock, while Ice takes down Flying (a somewhat broken type), and Ground (this type is blah).

^^ How to win every conquest ever.

Alliances are overrated. Kill them all.

Okay fine. If you really want to share the victory (ew), here is the ideal ally for each type, by type. Note that this does not take the quality of types into account, explaining why Rock is listed anywhere. I might have forgotten a more optimal ally, so feel free to correct me.

<Your type>: <Your preferred ally's type>

Normal: Psychic
Fire: Grass
Water: Dragon
Grass: Rock
Fighting: Steel
Flying: Steel
Bug: Rock
Rock: Grass
Ground: Steel
Psychic: Fairy
Poison: Water
Ghost: Fairy
Electric: Grass
Dragon: Steel
Steel: Water
Dark: Poison
Fairy: Ground

Hi! If you want to share a team, please do it by making an RMT that meets all requirements in it's own thread. It is generally frowned upon just to dump a team file into a thread that is not one officially for team-rating. Please remember this for next time, and I encourage you to make an RMT so that I, and everyone else, can help you improve your squad.

Erm, this might sound like a plug, but. . .  http://bit.ly/TheHumbleConquistador  Sometimes it's not about the type, but the player.

And on the topic of Coups, if you're good enough, you need not fear them.

Hum, I don't really have any qualms with any of these ideas, however I do agree with Lux;

The player is probably the most important part of the CQ experience.

Even if you have a good team, a great alliance, along with 2 trusting knights, you're bound to screw up if you can't hold on your own during the battles, when someone defeats your 2 knights, screws up your alliances, among other things.

Yeah. There's no magic potion that can make you a better player, unless you take it upon yourself to learn strategies.

Also, typing in the end only matters if you're good or bad.

*Drops mic and walks out.*

It also depends on type as well. If your facing some of the better people at conquest, advantages, disadvantages and resistances come into play really hard. But, in most cases, it does just boil down to who's better, and who's not.

Or you can just be Tour. Cause that always works, Rite? Rite? Rite?

In all seriousness, it may be the player, but the team limits the potential the player can have. Don't just build a team with good pokes, try to have atleast some synergy. Also good sets help.

I can hear the deafening sound of ego.

Anyway, type advantages and disadvantages are only lies we tell ourselves in the end to justify the fact that we lost/won. Mostly lost.

but it is fun to beat ghost when you're normal

Pfft. Bug is your master race. And, advantages/disadvantages are not lies we tell ourselves cause we won/lost. They are simple facts, like if i fought you as fighting, and you were normal. There is a 90%chance I'll win that gamble. Now, if I had my bug team , against your normal team. It'd be an even 50/50 chance of either of us winning.

How about me on Steel?

I mean, what?  Erm, well, everyone has their Ace types, well, all the good players, meaning that I don't have any.  Facing one down on their ace type can be practically suicidal at times, a free kingdom for them at the worst.  I've 6-0ed Ground with Steel.

There we have it, ladies and gentlemen, a failed attempt at modesty. Because we all know Lux will crush us into pieces when we're not looking.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, Normal wins against fighting far more than you'd expect; In fact, for the first few CQs I've observed in my short RPer existence, although longer than yours, Normal has beaten fighting 3/4 of the times. And even then, Poison beats Steel, and Psychic beats Dark.

90% is just a flat-out lie. Make that 'N/A%', because some people just suck, or are just too good for our existence.
