Bug Mono - Parasites

Post by Guest on Sat May 02, 2015 8:00 pm

Well, here today to show you guys an awesome team that I've had a lot of success with in mono, but adapted to the meta of Conquest.

Lost in Despair (Heracross) @ Heracronite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pin Missile
- Rock Blast
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance/Earthquake/Bullet Seed
This Heracross set is the wallbreaker of the entire team, able to fracture walls into pieces after a Swords Dance. Before it megas, Guts helps it to get a free boost and absorb status for the team. It can, after a Tailwind, KO most mons neutrally with a nice Close Combat, even dealing heavy damage to mons that resist. It is the centerpiece of this team, and helps against Bug, Fire, Steel, and Flying monos, as well as just sweeping teams.

notadequetegenesect (Galvantula) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Sticky Web
- Bug Buzz/Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Ice]
It kinda helps with speed control, plus its Coverage is nice. Not much here, besides the obvious fact that Genesect is much better and I miss it very much on this team.

MY SHARONA (Volcarona) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hidden Power [Ground]/Hidden Power Rock
- Roost
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
This mon absorbs Fire moves and can set up on threats like Char Y 1v1 and without Stealth Rocks up. It also works as a Will-O-Wisp absorber, and helps to beat Sableye-M, and sweep Grass Monos, as well as every monos. Ground helps it to beat Steel, but Rock helps it to beat Flying Monos. Very good monster, I love  this thing. n-n

Chestnut (Forretress) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Explosion
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
Not much here to say besides, it removes rocks and hazards, and it can be amazing at making sure the opponent doesn't spin or defog their hazards away. Lead with this against Fire Monos, and set up rox n explode n-n

Raging Winds (Volbeat) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Encore
- Thunder Wave
- Tailwind
- Baton Pass
It sets up Tailwind for Heracross, Thunder Waves setup mons which threaten the offensive nature of Bug, and encores those mons as well. Baton Pass makes switching very easy and removes predictions.

Edward Scizzorhands (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite/U-turn
- Knock Off
- Superpower
Nonstandard Banded Scizor, kills fairy mons for Heracross-M, and is amazing. Speed Creeps Heatran and a few other mons. Hype it up.

Now tell me what you think of this team, please, and think up any suggestions, opinions or thoughts you have about it. This team is very much better with Genesect :S

Solid team. I know what this team can do, as I've seen you climb the ladder with it. It's probably significantly better than the one that I slapped together. I'll probably be using it some.

Great work.

One thing I'd say, don't put baton pass on a Mon without some way to raise a stat. Otherwise it is pretty much useless. And that volbeat is taunt bait. Sableye prank taunt, struggle your way through the battle (literally)

As far as I can tell you have no walls.
Why not try this defensive escavalier?

Hope this helps (escavalier) @ chesto berry
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 248 hp / 8 atk / 252 SpD
Careful nature
IVs: 0 def / 0 SpA / 0 spe
-iron head
-megahorn
-toxic
-rest

But other than that a solid team.

Swaggy, the reason it has no walls is because that Bug is supposed to go directly into offense. Clearly Mega Heracross (BAE Very Happy) is the threat, breaking sashes and getting support from Web and Tailwind. When DGA has broken his walls that resist can Mega Hera (E.g. Skarmory) then it's going to take out the team.
