The Rule of the Murchadian Queen

The Rule of the Murchadian Queen is a Pokemon Tabletop United roleplay set in a medieval fantasy world. Three players (already chosen) will soon find what the world has to offer as they begin their unlikely adventure.

World Info

Murchado is a small, budding kingdom along the eastern coast of what the kingdom also calls Murchado. With the invention of the Pokemon Collar by King Justice II scarce more than a hundred years ago, this once small coastal kingdom, with its soft interior down the River of Hope, was suddenly given the opportunity to grow like never before. The beasts of the wild, once difficult to tame and impossible to trust to a humble farmer, were now unleashed upon the public, controlled by the collars and kept from showing their true ferocity without express permission from a King's Man.

This rapid expansion is met with some resistance by the tribes who had yet to follow Murchado's suit and settle in to a town. Determined that all should understand the joy of a warm bed, of work that you desire rather than the work you need, the Murchadian Kingdom sent first its Missions, then its soldiers to ensure all saw the same opportunity in life.

The Pokemon Collar is a misnomer, more accurately recognised by its first name, the Brand of Horrors. A Pokemon Collar takes on many forms when affixed to a pokemon, most often a simple brand marking the creature as safe for the general public. The Collar itself suppresses the violent instincts of a pokemon, keeping their strength in check such that even the common folk can still control them. It is these simple collars that gave the Murchadian Kingdom its explosion of wealth.
The other aspect to the collar is a corresponding licence, granted by the Murchadian King by virtue of his many King's Men. This Licence, while still suppressing the pokemon's natural instincts, allows a Trainer to utilise a Pokemon's full strength. All one need do to attain it is pass a simple test, pay the King his due, and swear loyalty to the throne. Expensive enough that not just anyone can have it, Pokemon in their more powerful state remain tools of the rich, with the occasional adventurer saving up all they have to acquire this truly unequaled weapon.
